As you may remember from the Region 1 CAP Council Meeting, we discussed starting a CAP Council in both Oakland and Macomb counties. Much interest and anticipation was generated during that meeting. Therefore, we are asking you to encourage your CAP activists to get involved. The more participants the stronger our CAP Council will be. In order for this Council to succeed, we need as many participants as possible.

The by-laws dictate that we need four (4) officers for each CAP Council. We ask that only members who reside in the respective counties take part in these councils.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Brian Negovan, Region 1 CAP Coordinator, at 586-427-9200 or bnegovan@uaw.net .

V-CAP is the UAW’s political action fund made up of voluntary contributions from UAW members, retirees and their families. The money is used to support pro-worker political candidates who have earned the endorsement of the UAW Community Action Program (CAP).

From taxes and trade policy to retirement security and health care to education and infrastructure – politics affects our daily lives. That’s why it’s essential for working families to make our voices heard in local, state and national politics by supporting candidates who support us. One of the most effective ways to do that is by contributing to V-CAP.
