Negotiations began in July of 2018 for RN UAW Local 2213 Contract with Mercy St Vincents Hospital. The company's focus has been to eliminate PRN points, Longevity, overtime after 36 and nurse must ask permission before any incidental overtime or be disciplined, plus many other concessions. A small 1 percent raise with a 1 percent in range adjustment. The company has also offered an incentive bonus of $100 for each member if they agree to eliminate release time for Bargaining Chair and Vice Chair, along with removal of Union offices from their premises. The RN Bargaining Committees focus has been on health and safety concerns and adding new language to offer protections. The lack of available bedside nurses still is an issue for safe staffing. The parties have 2 and 1/2 session left before the contract expires on October 29, 2018.
